Prerequisites and Enrollment Criteria
Students interested in enrolling in this course will be required to undergo an interview. The Competition Team is open to students in grades 7 and 8 only per FIRST guidelines. Participation requires commitment to after-school hours each week in preparation for the competition season. There will be four mandatory competitions scheduled from November to February, which will take place on Saturdays and Sundays.

Description
Students think like engineers to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge against other teams in the winter months. Students will work with different technologies such as CAD and 3D modeling software to build and design a robot. The robot will be brought to life using Java programming to meet the goals of the competition theme. This class is designed as a gateway to high school-level robotics competitions.
